📚 We just finished Chapters 17–18 of A Boy Called Bat, and it really got us thinking about how much Bat cares about the baby skunk and how hard he tries to do the right thing. Sometimes caring about something means being patient, listening to others, and learning along the way.
Your posts with the slings were darling. The prize for the daily drawing is a gift card to swig. Winners are: The Dunford and Fawcett families.

As a family, we invite you to look around your home for items that could help animals in our community as part of our Animal Shelter Drive. The items we are collecting are listed in the flyer.

📸 For today’s post, families can share a picture of the items you found to donate, or a picture of your student’s drawing from their booklet.

We are so thankful for the continued posts from our wonderful staff and families! Seeing the adventures you are sharing—both big and small—has been so much fun. From cozy reading moments to exciting outings, each post shows the special ways families spend time together.
The winners of todays drawing are: the Butler, Oyler-O'Brien, Stacey Smith, Flores, Walker, and Russell families. The students were given a blanket donated to us through the Davis School District Foundation.

As we continue reading A Boy Called Bat, we’re excited to meet a new character, Laurence! We love seeing how kind and patient he is with Bat and how he helps take care of the animals. Characters like Laurence remind us how important kindness and understanding can be.

Our social media post today is all about creativity! Bat designs a special sling to carry the baby skunk, and we’d love to see your ideas. Show us your animal sling creation by posting either:
A picture of your sling made in real life, or a drawing of the sling you designed.

We can’t wait to see all the creative ideas our amazing families come up with! Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Your participation makes our reading adventure even more special. If you haven't started reading you can catch up on it this weekend.
